How to collect wedding photos from your guests
Last updated 26 September 2026
The short answer
Make one private shared album before the wedding, and put its QR code where guests will see it: on the tables, at the bar, on the welcome sign. Guests scan it, join the album, and add photos straight from their phones. Everything lands in one place, in full resolution, instead of scattered across fifty camera rolls and group chats.
Fondays does exactly this. The rest of this page is how to set it up so people actually use it.
Step by step
- A week before: create a pool in the Fondays app for the wedding and name it something guests will recognise.
- Print the QR code. Tables, the bar and the photo booth work best. Add one line: "Scan to share your photos with us."
- Send the link too. Guests who can't make it, and family abroad, can join from the invite link and see the photos as they arrive.
- Ask one person to mention it in a speech or from the DJ booth. A single announcement does more than any sign.
- The day after: post a reminder. Most photos arrive the next morning, when people look through their camera rolls.
What it costs
Joining is always free for guests. The host picks one of these, and the app shows your local price before you pay:
| For | What to use | Price |
|---|---|---|
| A small get-together | Free (Spark) | Up to 30 people, 30 photos, kept 7 days |
| One wedding or big party | Event pass | From $38 once. Up to 200 guests, kept a year |
| No guest limit | Unlimited event pass | From $103 once. Kept a year |
| You host often | Radiance | From $13 a month. 250 people per pool, live slideshow wall |
After the wedding
Download the originals, keep the album going for anyone who adds late, and turn the best shots into a lay-flat photobook, prints or a framed piece, ordered from the same album and shipped to you.
Questions people ask
- Do guests need to download an app?
- Yes. Guests install Fondays and sign in with Google or Apple, which takes about a minute. It is what keeps the album private to the people you invited.
- Do photos lose quality?
- No. Fondays keeps the original file each guest uploads, not a compressed copy like a chat app sends.
- Can relatives abroad join?
- Yes. Anyone with the invite link can join from any country and see photos as they are added.
- Who can see the photos?
- Only the people in the album. It is never public.
